About TailFlow

TailFlow is an ecommerce centralized data platform designed to solve a massive ecommerce data problem, with a team led by founders with deep technical and operational roots at Palantir, Deloitte, and First Spark Ventures.

We ingest and process high-volume data across the entire commerce stack, converting a chaotic landscape of third-party signals into a coherent strategy. We fulfill the role of an entire data organization—delivering end-to-end capabilities from data engineering and pipeline infrastructure to analytics, data science, and strategic visualization.

With our MVP launched and beta clients active, we are entering a phase of rapid expansion. We are now capitalizing on our early traction to scale to dozens of clients within the next 12 months. We operate as a dedicated startup team of 5, based in BGC, Taguig.

The Role

We're seeking a CTO to own our technology vision and lead our engineering organization through rapid growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape the technical direction of a platform that's redefining how businesses understand their ecommerce performance.

The role covers full ownership of our product vision, technical strategy, and team development as we scale to enterprise clients and servicing hundreds of brands.

The Product

Running a modern ecommerce business requires making hundreds of micro-decisions daily, yet the signals needed to make them are fragmented across a dozen disconnected silos. TailFlow is the central intelligence layer that unifies this landscape.

We solve a challenge at the intersection of Data Engineering, Advanced Analytics, Product UX, and Software Engineering.

Ingestion & Aggregation

We build robust pipelines to pull and normalize scattered data from complex third-party integrations (marketplaces, ads, logistics).

Core Analytics & Intelligence

We ground the platform in rigorous data analytics principles, building comprehensive dashboards and visualizations that give users immediate clarity. We then layer on predictive modeling to forecast trends and Generative AI to synthesize that data into conversational insights.

Data Storytelling

We design opinionated dashboards that surface the right metrics out of the box—optimized for common ecommerce workflows. As customer needs evolve, the platform scales with them through customizable views and metrics, ensuring TailFlow grows alongside their business.

Software Engineering

We build the foundational systems that make everything else possible—designing scalable architectures, reliable APIs, and performant backend services that handle high-volume data processing while maintaining ideal response times for user-facing features.

The goal is simple but ambitious: Get all the data in one place, analyze the past-present-future, and present the "next best action" with absolute clarity.

The Last Big Goal

We're building toward automated execution. Once the platform knows the right decision, it should be able to execute it—reordering inventory when stock hits thresholds, reallocating ad budgets based on performance signals, adjusting prices in response to competitive data. The vision is to move from a decision support tool to an autonomous operations layer.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership (Months 1-6)

  • Assess and stabilize: Evaluate our current tech stack (Python FastAPI & Dagster, Next.js, AWS) and identify critical improvements needed for scale
  • Build the foundation: Establish robust technical processes, architecture decisions, and development workflows that can support 10x growth
  • Lead the team: Manage and mentor our existing technical team (1 frontend developer, 1 senior backend developer) while scaling to 5-8 engineers

Product & Vision (Ongoing)

  • Own the technical roadmap: Define how we evolve from current MVP to enterprise-grade analytics platform serving dozens of clients
  • Drive integration excellence: Ensure our data pipelines from our third-party platforms are bulletproof and scalable
  • Shape AI strategy: Guide our AI/ML roadmap using existing models (OpenAI, etc.) to deliver advanced analytics capabilities

Operational Excellence

  • Zero downtime mandate: Build systems and processes that deliver 99.9%+ uptime as we scale
  • Data accuracy: Ensure our analytics are always accurate and trustworthy for enterprise clients
  • Compliance ready: Implement data privacy and security measures for enterprise requirements
